# Glossary

| Term        | Definition                                                                                                  |
| ----------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| RWA         | Real World Asset - a physical asset (e.g., real estate) whose ownership is represented on a blockchain      |
| ERC-3643    | Ethereum security token standard with built-in compliance and transfer restrictions (used on Canton EVM)    |
| CNT         | Cardano Native Token - Cardano's built-in token standard (no smart contract required for basic minting)     |
| Canton EVM  | Digital Asset's Canton blockchain with EVM compatibility for smart contract deployment                      |
| Cardano     | Third-generation blockchain using Ouroboros PoS consensus and UTXO model                                    |
| SPV         | Special Purpose Vehicle - a legal entity created to hold a single asset                                     |
| KYC         | Know Your Customer - identity verification required by financial regulations                                |
| AML         | Anti-Money Laundering - screening to detect and prevent financial crimes                                    |
| Escrow      | Smart contract mechanism holding funds/tokens until predefined conditions are met                           |
| Atomic Swap | A smart contract trade where tokens and funds transfer simultaneously with no counterparty risk             |
| Whitelist   | On-chain list of approved wallet addresses; only whitelisted addresses can receive security tokens          |
| Yield       | Rental income distributed proportionally to token holders on their chain                                    |
| DFSA        | Dubai Financial Services Authority - regulator for the Dubai International Financial Centre                 |
| VARA        | Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority - UAE regulator for virtual assets                                      |
| Sumsub      | Third-party KYC/AML platform supporting global regulatory requirements including accredited investor checks |
