# Key Decisions and Open Items

The following items require sign-off before development begins. Items are marked by whether they affect Canton EVM, Cardano, or both.

|
\[Both Chains] KYC Re-verification Cadence

KYC status should expire (e.g., after 12 months). Both the Canton EVM KYC Registry and the Cardano Whitelist should support expiry timestamps. After expiry, users must re-verify before transacting on either chain.
|
| ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

|
\[Canton EVM] Yield Distribution Currency

A decision is needed on whether Canton yield is distributed in USDC or USDT. This affects the Yield Distributor Contract configuration. USDC is recommended for regulatory clarity in India and USA.
|
| ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

|
\[Cardano] Yield Distribution in ADA vs Fiat

For Cardano token holders, yield can be distributed on-chain in ADA or off-chain via bank transfer. On-chain ADA distribution is recommended for transparency and gas efficiency.
|
| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

|
\[USA] Accredited Investor Gate

SEC Reg D requires accredited investor verification for US users on both chains. Sumsub supports this check. A hard gate must be implemented in both the Canton EVM Compliance Module and the Cardano Compliance Module before any US investor can purchase tokens.
|

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://maxtronize.gitbook.io/docs/key-decisions-and-open-items.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
